Teliamura Sept 23: Contractual employees gheraoed the sub-divisional electricity office of Gamaibari in Teliamura and kept DGM Deepak Kumar Mandal locked for a long time demanding immediate payment of wages for last 6 months.
Due to the negligence of top official of the Electricity Department, all the temporary employees have been deprived of their wages for 6 months.
According to the details of the incident, all the temporary employees employed by the Electricity Department in Kalyanpur, Teliamura and Mungiakami areas of Teliamura sub-division are not getting their salary for the past 6 months due to the negligence of the top officials of the department. Even in the past days, the workers have repeatedly complained to the top officials of the concerned department to pay the outstanding salary, but nothing has been done.
With the ensuing Durga Puja festival in few days, the contractual employees went to the office of Gamaibari sub-division electricity department under Teliamura sub-division to talk to the DGM Deepak Kumar Mandal and collect the outstanding salary.
Allegedly, DGM Deepak Kumar Mandal was not willing to talk to the contractual employees regarding the payment of the salary under any circumstances.
Not only this, allegations of indecent behavior of DGM Deepak Mandal with the employees also surfaced due to which the temporary employees busted into anger in the office premises due to non-payment of salary.
The temporary employees locked the office of Sub-Divisional Electricity Department and DGM Deepak Kumar Mandal from outside.
Later, after a long 3 hours of discussion on both sides, the temporary employees warned to go for complete work break if the full salary of 6 months is not handed over to the employees within 7 days before the Durga Puja.
