Agartala, Feb 13: The people of Tripura should stay away from the selfish alliance of Left- Congress parties, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said on Monday.
Addressing a massive election rally in Agartala, just two days ahead of the Tripura assembly polls, he said, the Left- Congress can do anything for coming to the power.
"The parties have Kusti in Kerala and Dosti in Tripura. The people of Tripura have to stay away from the alliance," he said, adding that the Left and Congress people can never develop Tripura; they would always want Tripura to remain the poor.
The Prime Minister said, BJP govt brought peace and established rule of law in Tripura and it's evident by way all party's flags are seen amid the election campaign.
He said, the leftist rule had pushed Tripura on the path of destruction. The people of Tripura cannot forget the condition that prevailed here.
“The Left had treated the people of Tripura as their slaves. Be it earning or hearing, ‘Red Signal’ itself had become the misfortune of Tripura. The BJP government has established peace and rule of law in Tripura,” he added.
Sharpening his attack on the Leftists, he said, five years ago, when there was Left government, the CPM's Chanda wali company used to loot people's ration. But the double engine government is giving free ration to everyone today.
While promising the people for continued development, he said, when it comes to public interest, BJP does not hold back from taking tough and big decisions. No one would be able to play with the future of your children under the BJP rule.
He concluded the rally while appealing the people of Tripura to vote for BJP on February 16 next.
Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha, who is contesting from Town Bordowali seat, and other candidates- Sushanta Chowdhury, Krishnadhan Das, Ratan Lal Nath, Dr Dilip Kumar Das, Antara Sarkar Deb, Ratan Chakraborty, Papia Dutta, Surajit Dutta, Rajib Bhattacharjee, Mina Rani Sarkar, Rebati Mohan Das, Ram Prasad Paul and Kalyani Roy were present in the mega public rally.
