Kanchanpur Dec 04: People of Tripura are seething with anger and the day is not far when the people will oust the BJP from power, said CPI-M state secretary Jiten Choudhury here on Sunday.
Choudhury was addressing a public meeting of the CPI(M) held at Laljuri Bazar in Kanchanpur.
Around three hundred people took part in the day’s meeting.
Veteran CPI-M leader, Jiten Choudhury said that before coming to power in 2018 the BJP had made a lot of promises but over the past fifty-seven months of their misrule they have not kept a single promise.
Instead of fulfilling promises the BJP has unleashed a reign of terror and anarchy in Tripura and persecuted people.
“The time is coming when the people of the state will teach BJP a lesson and for this it is important that all secular and democratic forces come together” said Jiten.
Apart from CPI-M state secretary Jiten Chowdhury, senior leader Amitabh Dutta, former MLA of Kanchanpur Rajendra Reang, former MDC Lalit Debnath also addressed the program.
The speakers lambasted the ruling BJP government over fake promises made to the people of the state while adding that the present government is embezzling money by increasing the prices of goods.
