Physiotherapy Clinic inaugurated at Santirbazar District Hospital; Promises accessible care for South Tripura residents

physiotherapy clinic inaugurated at santirbazar district hospital promises accessible care for south tripura residents

A new chapter in healthcare services for South Tripura began on Friday with the inauguration of the Sunshine Physiotherapy Clinic at the premises of Santirbazar District Hospital.

The clinic, established under the initiative of Dr. Sairan Saha, was formally opened to the public by Prabhu Karuneshwar Madhav Das, the revered spiritual leader of Baikhora ISKCON‑run Jagannath Ji Temple.

The inauguration ceremony was marked by traditional rituals—ribbon cutting, incense lighting, and chanting of Vedic mantras—led by Prabhu Das, symbolising both spiritual blessing and community goodwill.

The event was attended by prominent figures including Buddha Bhanteji, Santirbazar Municipal Council Chairman Sapna Baidya, Vice‑Chairman Satyabrata Saha, Deputy CEO Pabitra Das, and Councillor Nepal Chandra Das, alongside other officials and community leaders. Their presence underscored the importance of the clinic as a much‑needed addition to local healthcare infrastructure.

Clinic authorities announced that patients visiting on the inaugural day would receive free physiotherapy services, a gesture aimed at introducing residents to the facility and its offerings. The clinic is expected to provide specialised care for patients requiring rehabilitation, pain management, and mobility support.

Prabhu Karuneshwar Madhav Das, speaking at the event, expressed hope that the clinic would greatly benefit residents of Santirbazar and the wider South Tripura district. He emphasised that the facility would ease access to physiotherapy services, which until now required patients to travel long distances.

Local residents welcomed the initiative with enthusiasm, noting that the clinic’s proximity to the district hospital would make it easier to integrate physiotherapy into broader medical care.
