Agartala, Nov 02: As many as 2,57,249 houses have been sanctioned in Tripura under Pradhan Mantri Awaas Yojana- Gramin since 2018, an official said on Wednesday.
According to special secretary of Rural Development department Sandeep R Rathod, only 24,989 houses were sanctioned in Tripura under the PMAY-G before 2018.
“Since 2018, 2,57,249 house have been sanctioned under the PMAY-G while construction of 1,92,266 houses has been completed. As many as 2,28,411 houses have been sanctioned in the financial year 2020-21 alone,” he said.
According to the special secretary, the expenditure incurred for implementing PMAY-G since 2018 is Rs. 2447.38 crore. He also said, 1,71,525 beneficiaries have been seeded with additional facilities including electricity, tap water, LPG and toilet.
Speaking on other the achievements of the Rural Development department, Rathod said, the first assessment process under Mukhyamantri Gram Samriddhi Yojana has already been finalized by all eight districts. Now, a special re-assessment process is underway. The best performing villages would soon be awarded, he said.
The scheme was launched with an aim to ensure the availability of basic amenities in all the rural families. There are 22 key performance indicators in the scheme which are used to assess the level of saturation in the availability of the basic amenities in every village of the state.
