PMGSY-IV: 56 rural road projects approved for West Tripura, MP Biplab Deb thanks PM Modi

The Union Ministry of Rural Development has approved 56 rural road projects covering a total length of 74.51 km under Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana (PMGSY)-IV (Batch-I), 2026-27 for the West Tripura Lok Sabha constituency.

The projects, estimated to cost around Rs 96.73 crore, were approved by the Centre, Union Rural Development Minister informed West Tripura MP Biplab Kumar Deb through an official communication.

Expressing gratitude for the approval, Deb thanked Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Rural Development and Agriculture & Farmers' Welfare Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan, and Tripura Chief Minister Dr Manik Saha for extending support to the state's rural infrastructure development.

According to the MP, of the 56 sanctioned roads, 30 are located in Sepahijala district while 26 are in Gomati district.

Deb said the projects would provide all-weather road connectivity to 56 rural habitations in the West Tripura parliamentary constituency. He said the improved road network would make travel easier for residents, enhance access to education and healthcare, facilitate the transportation of agricultural produce, and accelerate the overall socio-economic development of rural areas.

The MP also said the people of Tripura have been consistently benefiting from the development initiatives undertaken by the "double-engine government" under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. He expressed confidence that the pace of development would continue in the coming years, contributing to the state's overall progress.
