Political violence claims life of party worker; Tripura CM hands over solatium of Rs 2 lakh

Agartala May 31: Tripura chief minister Dr Manik Saha on Wednesday met the family of deceased party worker, Tapan Bhowmik who allegedly succumbed to death after being subjected to attack of miscreants.
According to reports, Tapan Bhowmik was a devoted Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Karyakarta who was allegedly attacked by miscreants after the 2023 assembly elections and later died.
Speaking to the reporters, chief minister Dr Manik Saha held opposition CPI(M) to be responsible behind the death of party worker, Tapan Bhowmik.
He said, “People are aware of who are responsible behind the death of the devoted BJP party activist. The colour and identity of the communists are clear with this sort of inhuman act”.
“The party and the government will make sure that the culprits are given exemplary punishment and no one will be spared”, he added.
The chief minister further said that a committee has been formed by the state government in its cabinet meeting held on Tuesday to look into such matters and see that the bereaved families get all possible support from the government.
The chief minister accompanied by state BJP president Rajib Bhattachaejee, former MLA Dr Dilip Kumar Das among others handed over a solatium of Rs 2 lakh to the bereaved family on behalf of the party.
