
With the objective of ensuring uninterrupted power supply across the state during the monsoon season, Tripura Power Minister Ratan Lal Nath chaired a high-level review meeting at TSECL.Â
The meeting focused on the overall power situation, monsoon preparedness, and various aspects of consumer services.
The meeting was attended by the Managing Director Biswajit Basu and senior officials of the power corporation.Â
Officials from the power departments of West Tripura, Sepahijala, and Khowai districts also participated through virtual mode.
During the meeting, the Minister clearly stated that maintaining uninterrupted electricity services during the monsoon is one of the government’s top priorities.Â
The minister also directed officials and field-level employees to remain fully prepared to respond quickly in case of power disruptions caused by heavy rainfall, storms, or natural calamities.
The Minister instructed officials to treat every consumer complaint with utmost importance and ensure speedy resolution so that public inconvenience does not continue for a prolonged period.Â
He emphasized the need for a more responsive and consumer-friendly power service system.
Special attention was given to issues related to prepaid electricity consumers.Â
The Minister also reviewed the challenges associated with recharge services and instructed concerned agencies and technology experts to adopt advanced technological solutions to prevent technical glitches.Â
He highlighted that technology-driven services would help provide faster, smoother, and more reliable facilities to consumers.
The minister also directed that electricity supply to essential services such as hospitals, drinking water supply centres, and important government establishments must not be disrupted under any circumstances. At the same time, he stressed the need to ensure reliable power supply for domestic and commercial consumers as well.
The meeting also reviewed round-the-clock service readiness, progress in electricity bill collection, quick disposal of consumer grievances, and preparedness of different departments to handle possible emergency situations during the monsoon.Â
The Minister emphasized keeping adequate manpower, equipment, and resources ready for immediate response.
