Pratima Bhowmik leads blood donation drive honouring Dr Shyama Prasad Mukherjee's birth anniversary

Former Union Minister of State Pratima Bhowmik marked the 125th birth anniversary of Dr. Shyama Prasad Mukherjee with a humanitarian initiative, hosting a blood donation camp at her residence. The event, organized by the Northeast Foundation, paid tribute to Mukherjee’s legacy while reinforcing the values of service and sacrifice.

Addressing reporters, Bhowmik reflected on Mukherjee’s life and urged citizens to follow his ideals in building “Ek Tripura Srestha Tripura” and “Ek Bharat Srestha Bharat.” She emphasized that Mukherjee’s vision of unity and progress remains relevant today, inspiring generations to contribute to nation-building.

Bhowmik also praised the Northeast Foundation, a society established in 2020 during the Covid-19 pandemic, for its consistent work in supporting vulnerable communities. Commending their dedication, she encouraged members to continue their noble mission of service in the years ahead.

The Foundation set a target of collecting 50 units of blood during the camp, with volunteers and supporters turning out to contribute. The initiative was widely appreciated, not only as a tribute to Mukherjee but also as a vital step in strengthening healthcare support in the state.
