Pratima extends helping hand to distressed family

Teliamura Sept 23: MoS Pratima Bhowmik stood by Antumani Debbarma, a tribal minor from a remote area of the state who was beaten up while stealing Rs 70 to buy food.
Thursday afternoon, Union Minister Pratima Bhowmik extended financial help to the distressed Janjati family.
Notably, on September 17, Antumani Debbarma, a minor, was caught red-handed while stealing Rs 70 to buy rice. As soon as this news was published in the media, there was an adverse reaction across the state.
Antumani Debbarma of Tuimadhu area under Mungiakami block lost his parents and became an orphan a few years ago. As a result, he has continued struggle for food and clothing.
Finally on Thursday, MoS Pratima Bhowmik stood by the distressed family.
Local leaders including Khowai district BJP General Secretary Jayanta Saha, Teliamura Panchayat Samiti Vice Chairman Apu Gope, Krishnapur Gram Panchayat Chief Gopal Das handed over cash to Antumani's family.
Union Minister Pratima Bhowmik spoke to Antumani over a video call and assured all kinds of help in the coming days as well.
