Prof Ashes Gupta gets additional charge of Tripura University’s CDC

Tripura University has assigned Prof Ashes Gupta of its Department of English the additional charge of Director of the university’s College Development Council (CDC), a notification issued on August 25 said.

The appointment, approved by Vice-Chancellor Prof Debabrata Das, will remain effective for three years or until further orders, whichever is earlier, the notification said.

Gupta will continue to discharge his existing responsibilities in the English department alongside the additional assignment. He will not be relieved of his teaching and other regular duties, the order clarified.

The notification was signed by Registrar (in-charge) Prof Samir Kumar Sil and will be placed before the university’s Executive Council.

The CDC is responsible for coordinating academic and institutional development-related matters concerning colleges affiliated to Tripura University. Its director serves as an interface between the university and its affiliated colleges on matters relating to academic functioning, development and institutional issues.
