After a period of restructuring and temporary pauses, the Purvaudaya Heart of Humanity Outlet in Radhanagar, Agartala has been officially reopened on Monday, reaffirming its mission of compassion and community service.
The relaunch was inspired by the legacy of Maharaja Bir Bikram Manikya Bahadur, remembered as the architect of modern Tripura, and Maharani Kanchan Prabha Devi, celebrated as a symbol of compassion and service.
The Heart of Humanity project, run entirely by the Tripura‑based NGO Purvaudaya, founded by social worker Niti Sharma, is a completely free and anonymous philanthropic platform. Operating on a “no questions asked” model, the outlet provides dedicated spaces such as clothes shelves and 24‑hour community refrigerators, where citizens can drop off surplus household items and food, while those in need can collect them with dignity.
The reopening follows months of public feedback, during which locals expressed concern that some outlets appeared inactive due to lack of personnel or management, creating the impression of permanent closure. The relaunch aims to restore confidence in the initiative and strengthen its role as a community lifeline.
Organisers highlighted that the outlet embodies the values of kindness, care, and dignity, encouraging people to “donate with love, share with kindness, and support a better tomorrow.” The initiative also ties into broader goals of sustainability, with its focus on people, community, environment, and a brighter Tripura.
The event’s slogan, “Let kindness always be in fashion,” reflects Purvaudaya’s vision of building a society where compassion is central to everyday life. By reopening the Radhanagar outlet, the NGO hopes to expand its reach and inspire more citizens to participate in acts of giving and sharing.
