Agartala Nov 21: AICC secretary Szarita Laitphlang on Tuesday stated that Congress leader Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi would soon visit Tripura in the month of December after the elections in five states get over.

The senior Congress leader interacted with the media after an organizational meeting of the women’s wing of the party at Pradesh Congress headquarters in capital city.

AICC secretary Szarita Laitphlang and Pradesh Congress president Asish Kumar Saha were felicitated on behalf of Pradesh Mahila Congress at the beginning on the day’s meeting.

State Women Congress president Sarbani Ghosh Chakraborty along with other women leaders remained present at the meeting.

Talking to the reporters about the meeting, TPCC president Asish Kumar Saha said, “To ensure strength of a party, all the wings and frontal organizations need to be strengthened equally. The meeting is to focus on the works done by the Pradesh Mahila Congress and also chalk out future plans and strategies in favour of the party and the common people”.

Talking about Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi’s arrival to the state, AICC secretary Szarita Laitphlang said, “The dates have not been fixed yet. We are in contact with the office of the senior leaders and as soon as the election process in five states of India get over, the dates will be fixed. However, the probable date will be in the 2^nd to 3^rd week of December, 2023”.

Laitphlang further said, “Apart from offering prayers at Mata Tripurasundari temple in Udaipur, the senior Congress leaders will address a mass gathering to interact will the common people and know about the issues that needs to be addressed”.

Besides, a meeting with the core committee of the party will also be held in view of organizational interests, she added.
