The visit highlighted the government’s focus on transforming railway infrastructure and enhancing passenger amenities in Tripura.
During the inspection, Bhattacharjee took stock of ongoing development measures aimed at improving facilities for passengers. He described the initiative as part of the Prime Minister’s vision to bring transformative changes to Indian Railways, ensuring that connectivity infrastructure in Tripura keeps pace with national progress.
Speaking to reporters, Bhattacharjee said, “On the auspicious occasion of the birthday of India’s illustrious and visionary Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi, I visited Agartala Railway Station today under the ‘Amrit Bharat Station’ scheme.” He emphasized that the modernization drive was not only about infrastructure but also about elevating the travel experience for ordinary citizens.

At Agartala, the works include upgraded waiting areas, enhanced sanitation facilities, digital information systems, and improved circulation space to accommodate rising passenger traffic.
