Rs. 100 Cr works planned to beautify Khowai city; ADB delegation visit proposed sites

Khowai, March 22: A delegation of Asian Development Bank on Wednesday visited various sites of the Khowai district aiming to beautify the Khowai city and make it advanced and developed. The work will commence soon with the financial support from the Asian Development Bank.
A three-member delegation from the Asian Development Bank and a total of 15 members including 12 from the state's Urban Development visited various proposed sites in Khowai city on Wednesday. The delegation was led by the chairman of Khowai municipality Debashish Nath Sharma
Sharma said that an action plan amounting to Rs. 100 crore was undertaken to beautify the city and out of this the first phase of the work amounting to Rs. 30.60 lakhs will commence soon for proper drainage system in the city, building quality roads and importantly the work will also be to ensure proper drinking water for the people of the Khowai city.
The chairman also said that in the second phase of the work of the city, the fish and vegetable market of Subhash Park market will be developed to a better standard. Besides, the ancient temple of the city, Hari Mandir, will be made more modern and multiple parks will be built in the city.
The 3-member delegation of ADB comprised of drinking water expert Govind Singh Rathore, environment affairs Manisha Telang and self-social development affairs Kalishankar Ghosh.
