RSS Chief Mohan Bhagwat to address Gen Z at youth conference in Mumbai
In a landmark event bringing together India’s young voices, Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) Sarsanghchalak Dr. Mohan Bhagwat will interact with Gen Z and Gen Alpha students on August 6 at the Nita Mukesh Ambani Cultural Centre (NMACC).
The session will mark the opening of the 15th anniversary celebrations of India’s International Movement to Unite Nations (I.I.M.U.N.), with the inaugural ceremony of its Annual Championship Conference.
More than 2,000 students aged 15–19, representing schools and colleges from over 100 cities across India, will gather in Mumbai for what is being described as one of the world’s largest youth-led conferences. The event will centre on the theme “The Role of Youth in Uniting the World, the Indian Way.”
Rishabh Shah, Founder of I.I.M.U.N., said the dialogue comes at a crucial time: “Leadership is not only about guiding the next generation, but also listening to it. At this critical juncture in India’s journey, we need this dialogue more than ever before. I am grateful to Mohan Bhagwat for accepting our invite to address this gathering.”
The Annual Championship Conference is the flagship programme of I.I.M.U.N., where students debate and deliberate on local, national and global issues. Each year, the organisation conducts 108 conferences and thousands of civic engagements led entirely by young people aged 15–24, reaching students between 11–19 years.
Founded in 2011, I.I.M.U.N. has grown into a vast public affairs platform run by youth, spanning 275 cities across India and 40 countries worldwide. Over 15 years, it has reached more than 7.5 crore young people and collaborated with 1.5 lakh schools and colleges. Its Advisory Board includes eminent figures such as Ajay Piramal, Deepak Parekh, Nadir Godrej, Dr. Shashi Tharoor, Justice D. Y. Chandrachud, Karan Johar, P. T. Usha and former Chiefs of the Armed Forces.
The organisation has hosted 32 Heads of State, Nobel Laureates, Academy Award winners and over 34,000 distinguished speakers. Many of its alumni have gone on to become elected representatives, civil servants, authors, lawyers, actors and business leaders.
With Dr. Bhagwat’s participation, the Mumbai conference is expected to set the tone for a new chapter in youth engagement, placing India’s next generation at the heart of conversations on democracy, leadership and nation-building.
