
Tripura Chief Minister Prof. (Dr.) Manik Saha on Tuesday handed over a sacred Kalas containing soil brought from the birthplace of Sant Shiromani Shri Guru Ravidas Ji in Varanasi (Kashi), Uttar Pradesh, to the BJP district leadership as part of the observance of the saint's 650th birth anniversary.
The ceremonial handover took place during a programme at the Sri Sri Ramakrishna Saradeshwari Math on Akhaura Road in Agartala.
As part of the celebrations, a Shiv Rudrabhishek and Maha Yajna were organised.
The Chief Minister said that the "Sampriti Sankalp Abhiyan" aims to spread the timeless message of equality, harmony, social justice, and service to humanity propagated by Sant Guru Ravidas Ji to every corner of the state.
He said that the ideals of Sant Guru Ravidas Ji continue to inspire society to uphold equality, fraternity, and the welfare of humanity.Â
Expressing hope that the saint's teachings would further strengthen the bonds of harmony and unity among people, Dr. Saha stressed the importance of carrying forward his values for the benefit of future generations.
The programme was attended by several BJP leaders, eminent personalities, and a large number of devotees and followers.
