School Education Department launches special inspection drive across Tripura

The School Education Department has launched a special inspection drive across Tripura to assess the ground-level implementation of educational programmes, teaching-learning practices and the overall functioning of government schools.

As part of the exercise, a department team visited several schools in Mandai block on Wednesday and reviewed classroom activities, student attendance, the learning environment and the implementation of various education initiatives.

The team examined the teaching-learning process and took stock of programmes including Vidya Setu, NIPUN Tripura and pre-primary activities. Officials interacted with teachers and observed students' classroom participation and learning progress.

The inspection team also visited the District Education Officer's office in West Tripura and the Sadar Inspectorate, where it held discussions with officials on school inspections, implementation of educational programmes, students' learning outcomes and administrative issues concerning schools.

During the visit, officials inspected the campuses of Vande Tripura, PM e-Vidya Tripura and the Tele-Education Project under the School Education Department. The team reviewed educational content production, broadcasting facilities and technology-enabled learning arrangements, with a focus on reaching students in remote and rural areas.

The department also reviewed the Interactive Virtual Classroom Project being implemented through GUMBI Software. The project is operational in 240 government schools across all eight districts of Tripura and facilitates live, interactive and analytics-based virtual classes from a studio in Agartala.

The department said the two-way virtual classroom system is intended to improve access to quality education, particularly for students in remote and rural areas.

The inspection drive is aimed at providing officials with a direct assessment of conditions in schools and identifying issues related to teaching, learning and implementation of government programmes.

The department said inspections would continue in the coming days as part of efforts to strengthen the learning environment in government schools and ensure that students have meaningful learning opportunities.
