Agartala, Aug 18: A big incident happened in the cricket field today. Group champion Sanghati has been defeated. Team Sanghati, who advanced to the quarter-finals after winning six consecutive matches in the group league, were knocked out by BCC as group champions. Today, BCC advanced to the semi-finals with a thrilling two-run win over Sanghati in the first quarter-final match. It can be called a great incident in the current tournament in domestic cricket. At the start of the match at the scheduled time in the morning, Saghati won the toss and decided to field first. Batting first, Banamalipur Cricket Club collected 145 runs losing 4 wickets in the scheduled 20 overs. Opener Bikram Kumar Das’s 60 for the team deserves ample mention. Bikram scored 60 runs off 44 balls hitting eight boundaries and two over boundaries. Sagar Sharma’s 34 runs and ShyamShakeelGon’s unbeaten 38 runs are also worth mentioning. In reply, Sanggati was scoring runs like any other day from the start, but with the batsmen looking a little overconfident, that’s what happened. A concerted effort by every bowler of the Banamalpuri Cricket Club forces them to step into the trap. The limited 20 overs ended only to collect 143 runs with the loss of 8 wickets. SamratSutradhar’s 23 runs and Chiranjit Pal’s unbeaten 23 runs are worth mentioning, but the last defense was not possible as the others did not bat very responsibly. BCC won by just 2 runs and qualified for the semi-finals. Opener Bikram Kumar Das’ impeccable batting also earned him the man of the match award.
