Sensitization Program on combating Child Trafficking held in Agartala

Agartala Aug 11: One day district level sensitization program on “Combating Child Trafficking” was organized under the joint initiative of National Commission for Protection of Child Rights (NCPCR) with SCPCR and West Tripura District Administration on Thursday at the Pragna Bhavan, Agartala.
The program was organized to commemorate World Day against Human Trafficking.
Child Welfare Committee Juvenile Justice Board, Police administration, Health and Education Departments, CDPOs, BDOs, SDMs and various other officials of different important departments took part in the day’s seminar.
Talking to the reporters, Dr Chandrani Biswas, District Child Protection Officer, West Tripura District said, “The program was aimed for the best interest of the children across the state”.
She further added, “Child trafficking is a serious crime and the worst form of human rights violation prevalent in many parts of the state and country. To combat the menace, NCPCR has taken steps under its mandate and jurisdiction”.
Barnali Goswami Chairperson SCPCR, discussed the major topics related to child trafficking in the one-day seminar.
