SFI-ABVP clash at K’shar College

Kailashahar Nov 28: Two groups of students clashed at Kailashahar Ramkrishna College on Monday over subscription collection. In the clash two SFI supporters – Tushar Majumder and Md Shamim -were beaten up by the supporters of the ABVP while SFI activists were collecting subscriptions from the college teachers for the upcoming All India Conference of SFI in Hyderabad.
The SFI activists complained to the principal of the College, Trisha Majumder and alleged ABVP supporters and outsiders attacked the SFI activists twice today. They demanded proper investigation and action against the perpetrators, otherwise, the Left students’ body threatened to hold intensive stirs.
The ABVP supporters blamed the SFI for today’s clash and said, SFI supporters were ruining the college atmosphere and were collecting subscriptions during the last 25 years of the Left Front rule.
“Today, after we witnessed them collecting subscriptions, we wanted to know the reason – however, the SFI activists turned violent”, ABVP alleged.
Police force led by SDPO Dhruba Nath reached the spot and quelled the tension even as both the warring groups clashed in front of the Police, the security personnel calmly handled the situation.
When contacted, the principal of the college said two groups of students clashed twice today. She also said counselling for the student was started. The principal also pointed out that Police were not called by the college authority.
