Shall avoid using car for city travel: Pranajit

Finance Minister Pranajit Singha Roy on Saturday said that he would avoid travelling through his car inside Agartala city responding to the call of PM Narendra Modi to conserve fuel. Singha Roy, later in the day, travelled to the civil secretariat riding his son’s scooter.

“I have decided to let go of my security escort. During my short distance travels within Agartala city, only one personal guard will travel with me. When I have to travel outside Agartala city, I have no other option but to use a car but otherwise, I will use the scooter for travelling within the city areas,” he added. 

He also informed the media persons that he had been outside the state for a couple of days. “I was outside the state. Since I have arrived I shall adhere to the restrictions as per the appeal of the Prime Minister,” the Minister said.
