Shija Hospital set to come up in Tripura, foundation stone laid

Tripura Chief Minister Dr Manik Saha on Wednesday laid the foundation stone of proposed Shija Hospital at R.K. Nagar.

 

The Chief Minister said, the state government provided around 28 acres of land for establishing the hospital by the Shija Hospital and Research Institute, Manipur.

 

He said, the hospital will be established with an investment of around Rs 900 crore and the hospital authority also planned to open medical college.

 

According to Dr. Saha, the super-speciality hospital will not only strengthen the medical services but also generate employment opportunities.

 

The Chief Minister assured all necessary assistance for implementing the project and urged the local people to co-operate.

 

Dr. Saha said, during his recent visit to Ahmedabad, he met Gujarat Chief Minister and requested him so that such big states develop project in small states like Tripura.

 

The Chief Minister also said, in an event at NFSU, he emphasized introducing Forensic Odontology course in NFSU Tripura. He said, Forensic Odontology helped identifying the victims of Ahmedabad flight crash.

 

He said, the health sector is a big support system in any formation and the people working in this field have immense responsibilities.

 

He also encouraged the doctors to upgrade their expertise so that the people can get super-speciality services within the state.

 

Local MLA Ratan Chakraborty, Health secretary Kiran Gitte and Chairman and Managing Director of Shija Hospitals & Research Institute, Imphal- Dr. Palin Khundongbam among others were present in the event.
