Kailashahar, Feb 27: The 25th Shiv Chaturdashi Mela has commenced with grandeur at Pecharodhar village in Dolugaon under Kailashahar subdivision.
Unakoti Zilla Parishad Sabhadhipati Amolendu Das inaugurated the three-day fair, organized by Navaraga Sangha, on Sunday.
Several dignitaries, including Chandiur Panchayat Samiti Vice Chairman Binoy Singh, Bilashpur Panchayat Pradhan Surajit Das and other officials, attended the opening ceremony.
As part of the event, local artists performed during a cultural programme which concluded with a Didi No. 1 competition for women.
Government and private stalls were exhibited during the programme.
It was learnt that renowned Baul singer Hriday Sarkar is set to perform on the third day.
Though Minister Sudhanshu Das was scheduled to attend, official duties kept him out of state.
Sabhadhipati Amolendu Das praised Navaraga Sangha for its social contributions and emphasized its dedication to community welfare.
