Teliamura July 25: Crisis of teachers in state government schools has turned out to be a burning issue in Tripura.
This time incident of shortage of teachers has been reported from Indira Colony Upper Primary School in Tuisindrai Karkari area, not far from Teliamura town.
Reportedly, the number of students from the first to the eighth grade of this school is more than 36, but there are only 3 teachers.
Because of adequate number of teachers to tackle all the classes, the teaching and learning process in the school has come to a standstill.
Intellectuals and parents of the children alleged, “Despite of long and wide speeches made in the name of education revolution, the entire education system has gradually started to stagnate”.
A fact that is not unknown even to the officials of the State Education Department.
Talking to the reporters, Rupesh Roy, School in-charge said, "Single handedly I am doing all sort of job in the school starting from teaching to official works".
He added, recruitment of adequate teachers would help in reducing the burden and also help the students in particular.
Question remains if the students will continue to suffer in this situation.
