Skilling Initiatives to Empower Women, says MoS Chandrasekhar

Agartala, Aug 12: Union Minister of State for Electronics, IT and Skill Development and Entrepreneurship Rajeev Chandrasekhar, who arrived in Agartala on Thursday on a three-day tour, visited the Industrial Training Institute (ITI)-for women in Agartala and reviewed facilities for skilling, education and training on Friday.
He met the trainers and staff at the Institute in Indra Nagar here, who briefed him about their skilling efforts and the opportunities for entrepreneurship and jobs available in the region.
The ITI is being further strengthened by the Govt of India under the Model ITI Scheme. Financial assistance of Rs 7.2 crores has been sanctioned by the Centre.
“Empowering women with skills and creating opportunities for jobs and Entrepreneurship is at the core of PM Narendra Modi’s AtmaNirbharBharat vision,” said Rajeev Chandrasekhar during his interaction with the officials present.
Notable, Chandrasekhar will be returning to New Delhi tomorrow.
However, before leaving for New Delhi on Saturday (Aug 13), Chandrasekhar will address a Tiranga Rally in Hawaibari village, Teliamura and hold interactions with students, entrepreneurs and the general public.
