The South Tripura district administration has announced elaborate plans for a Seva Kalash Jyoti Yatra to be held on October 7, 2026, at the premises of the Agriculture Sub‑Division Office near Belonia Mart, marking Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s 76th birthday and 25 years of his public service.
At a press conference held on Sunday afternoon, District Magistrate Mohammad Sajjad P. and District Sabhadhipati Dipak Datta outlined the details of the upcoming programme, which forms part of the nationwide Seva Sankalp Abhiyan.
Officials highlighted that several initiatives have already been completed across South Tripura under the Abhiyan, including cleanliness drives, fruit distribution to patients, blood donation camps, and Gram Seva programmes. On October 7, the focus will shift to Belonia, where the Seva Kalash Jyoti Yatra will serve as the central event.
The gathering is expected to draw nearly 10,000 participants, including students, youth, and members of the general public from across the district. Three torch rallies will converge at the main venue: One from Hrishyamukh Block via Sabroom and Jolaibari, another from Shantirbazar and adjoining areas and a third from Rajnagar through Barpathari and Bankar.
These rallies will unite at the stage, where the ceremonial flame connection of the torches will symbolize collective service and unity.
The event will be attended by senior state ministers Ratan Lal Nath and Shukla Charan Noatia, underscoring its significance at both district and state levels. Following the inaugural ceremony, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will address the gathering virtually from New Delhi, reflecting on his 25 years in public service and highlighting the vision of the Seva Sankalp Abhiyan as a nationwide movement for service and good governance.
