Srinagar-Anandanagar residents to host first ever Makar Sankranti Bath 7 Poush Fair

For the very first time, residents of Srinagar and Anandanagar have come together to organize a two-day celebration of Makar Sankranti Snan (Holy Dip) and Poush Mela at the Srinagar Dashmighat ground. 

The event will be held on January 12 (Monday) and January 13 (Tuesday), marking a significant cultural milestone for the local community.

Preparations are already underway at the venue. On Wednesday, concerned authorities visited the site to review arrangements. Officials assured that all necessary measures are being taken to ensure that devotees arriving for the holy dip face no inconvenience.

In addition to the religious observances, the fair will feature stalls set up by small traders offering a variety of goods. The two-day mela is expected to draw large crowds, blending spiritual devotion with festive commerce.

Local organizers expressed enthusiasm about the joint initiative, noting that the collaboration between Srinagar and Anandanagar residents reflects a spirit of unity and cultural pride. The event is anticipated to become a new tradition in the region, fostering both community bonding and economic opportunities for small businesses.
