State Jr Girls' footballers leave for Dimapur

The Tripura Girls Football team left for Dimapur, Nagaland, with a promise to perform well in the National Junior Girls’ Football Championship. The team departed by train on Sunday morning under the captaincy of Smriti Jamatia.

Before leaving the state, the players appeared confident, determined to give their best and bring glory to Tripura. The tournament begins on December 3. Tripura has been placed in Group ‘A’ alongside Uttar Pradesh, Telangana, and Sikkim. However, Telangana and Sikkim withdrew at the last moment, leaving Tripura to face only Uttar Pradesh on December 5.

The 20-member squad includes: Smriti Jamatia (Captain), Padini Reang, Tulsi Jamatia, Jaskika Jhara, Dhanita Reang (Vice-Captain), Jaluk Jamatia, Uniki Reang, Remika Reang, Jaya Debbarma, Meta Jamatia, Payelsa Jamatia, Krittika Debnath, Shukla Rani Debbarma, Brijia Debbarma, Trishna Das, Riya Jamatia, Debika Das, Deepika Debbarma, Ratna Orang, and Aruna Rani Tripura, Coach: Sujit Ghosh and Manager: Purnima Das.
