Statue installed in memory of Martyr Sambhu Roy

A statue in memory of CRPF martyr Sambhu Roy was unveiled on Saturday in Dharmanagar’s Chandrapur area, beside the Apanjan Club. The initiative was taken by the 140th Battalion of the CRPF, and the installation ceremony was conducted at 11:30 AM in a brief yet dignified manner.

 

Sambhu Roy, a valiant jawan of the CRPF’s 210 Cobra Battalion, joined the force at the age of 25. He actively participated in anti-Maoist operations for several years and laid down his life during a mission in the Maoist-dominated region of Chhattisgarh. Born on June 18, 1990, he was martyred on April 3, 2021.

 

The unveiling ceremony was attended by North Tripura District Magistrate Chandni Chandran, Superintendent of Police Avinash Rai, CRPF DIG Itendra Kumar Rajput, Commandant of the 140th Battalion Munna Singh, along with other officials and CRPF personnel.

 

Speakers at the event paid heartfelt tribute to Sambhu Roy’s supreme sacrifice, noting that his courage and patriotism will continue to inspire future generations.
