STGT/STPGT: Police brutality on job aspirants amid protests seeking recruitment

Agartala Nov 01: Pressing for the demand of all together recruitment, more than 100 STGT qualified job aspirants’ on Tuesday gheraoed the state Education Minister’s residence.
However allegations of police brutality were raised by the agitators as they launched a protest demanding all together recruitment into more than 5,000 vacant posts.
Reportedly, with the longstanding demand of filling up the vacant posts by recruiting the qualified job aspirants of STGT 2022 examination, the unemployed youths once again went to meet the state Education Minister Ratan Lal Nath at his residence.
Speaking to the media persons one of the job aspirant youth said, “The ministers are playing with our sentiments and future. Once we are sent to Finance Minister who again sends us to Education Minister and it continues. Despite of assurances from both the state Education Minister and Finance Minister nothing has been done for us till date”.
Fuming in anger over the changed statements of the State Education Minister, the agitating youths added, “Many of us have taken loans, sold plots for studying. After lot of efforts we cleared the examination. But when we met the EM today he said that we have to sit for exams again. How many times we have to sit for examinations to get jobs when there are more than 5, 000 posts vacant”?
Meanwhile, a large contingent of police and TSR force was deployed at the agitation spot who tried to vacate the road in front of the Education Minister’s residence.
This resulted into a scuffle between the police and agitating students who were dragged from the spot forcefully and taken to AD Nagar Police Line by buses.
The job aspirants lambasted the state Education Minister for taking a complete U-turn from his earlier statement of assurances.
