Survey for alternative railway route through Kailashahar completed in Tripura, MP says in Vartalap

The survey for an alternative railway route through Kailashahar has been completed, MP Rajib Bhattacharjee said on Wednesday.
He was speaking at a Vartalap programme titled ‘12 Years of Trust, Development and Public Welfare’ of Prime Minister Narendra Modi held at the Agartala Press Club.
The MP referred to various schemes such as the Garib Kalyan Yojana, Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, Mudra Yojana and Ujjwala Yojana. 
He said the Prime Minister has called for the ‘Vocal for Local’ initiative, encouraging people to buy local products. At the same time, small entrepreneurs are being strengthened through loans under the Mudra Yojana so that the ‘Vocal for Local’ initiative can become successful. More than 10 crore people have received LPG connections under the Ujjwala Yojana. At the same time, the Prime Minister has launched the Kisan Samman Nidhi initiative for the progress and welfare of farmers.
He said, “Modi Ji has launched many projects for Tripura’s development. The state now has nine National Highways instead of just one. Broad gauge railway services have reached Sabroom, and the survey for an alternative railway route through Kailashahar has been completed. He also said that the Agartala MBB Airport is one of the finest airports in the North East.”
The Prime Minister has also taken initiatives to make Tripura H.I.R.A. (Highways, I-Ways, Railways and Airways). Tripura is now witnessing major progress in air, rail and road connectivity, he said. 
The MP mentioned that a demand has also been made for setting up an AIIMS in Tripura. He said the Prime Minister has worked over the past 12 years to make the country prosperous in every respect.
Although it was mainly a media workshop, organised as part of the ongoing initiatives of the Agartala Branch of the Press Information Bureau (PIB), other interested participants also attended.

The speakers and panellists highlighted the wide range of development achieved over the past 12 years in Tripura as well as across the country. At the beginning of his speech, MP Shri Rajib Bhattacharjee described Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi’s 12 years as ‘Baaro Saal Bemisal’ (12 Exemplary Years). 
He said these 12 years belong to every section of society, from farmers, workers and marginalised people to all citizens. These have been 12 years of taking the country forward through public welfare. During this period, along with public welfare, Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi has also given equal importance to protecting the unity and security of the nation.
He said the Prime Minister has worked for the development of every section of society, with special emphasis on the empowerment of women. He has worked to turn the vision of ‘Make in India’ into reality. Discussing the Prime Minister’s various initiatives to strengthen the country's economic foundation, the MP said that even the poorest people were brought into the banking system by opening bank accounts under the ‘Jan Dhan Yojana’. More than 3 lakh crore rupees has been deposited in banks through this initiative. People are now realising the benefits of this scheme. Since everyone has a bank account, the benefits of all government schemes are now reaching beneficiaries directly through Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT). 
There is no middleman or intermediary involved. This has particularly strengthened the financial structure of rural areas.
Speaking at the programme, Dr. Ratan Deb, Former Principal-in-Charge of Bir Bikram Memorial College, said that a stable government is essential for the country's development. He said Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi’s government has provided such stability for the past 12 years. As a result, economic growth has increased significantly and the country’s economy has reached USD 4.3 trillion. GDP is also growing steadily. In this context, he referred to British economist Martin Wolf, who projects that India can become an economic superpower by 2047, though it may not achieve high-income status. Dr. Ratan Deb said that Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi’s initiatives have brought greater transparency to transactions across various sectors. Start-ups have become a major initiative to further strengthen the business sector. Besides, greater emphasis on connectivity has also helped increase the country's per capita income.
Debasish Lodh, in his address, discussed various initiatives and schemes for agriculture and the annadata (food providers) farmers. He said that when agriculture fails, every other sector is affected. Therefore, under the leadership of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, several measures have been taken over the past 12 years for the progress of farmers. He said that under the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi, funds are being transferred directly to farmers’ bank accounts through the world’s largest Direct Benefit Transfer system. He also referred to initiatives such as Kisan Sarathi for weather-related information, "Kisan e-Mitra" for answering farmers’ agriculture-related queries in major Indian languages, Soil Health Cards, Krishi Vikas Yojana and several other schemes. He said these government initiatives for farmers are contributing to GDP growth, economic development and overall employment generation in the country.
Professor Paresh Debnath said that the Prime Minister has also given special importance to women’s empowerment. Schemes such as the Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana, vocational training programmes, various Production Linked Schemes and the Lakhpati Didi Scheme are bringing major socio-economic changes in the lives of women. At least 3 crore women have benefited under the Lakhpati Didi Scheme.
The Agartala Press Club president in his address, referred to the Prime Minister Mudra Yojana, which provides collateral-free loans. He said this scheme has brought significant changes, especially to the rural economy, and has improved the financial condition of poor people. 
Referring to the PM Kisan Yojana, Sarkar said that in Tripura, 216,603 farmers benefited from the latest, that is, the 32nd instalment of the scheme, under which 43.32 crore rupees was transferred directly to their bank accounts through Direct Benefit Transfer. He said that these initiatives for the welfare of farmers, workers and every section of society are helping the country move forward rapidly.
