Agartala Dec 02: Detailing a bunch of decisions taken at the state cabinet meeting on Thursday evening, ICA Minister and cabinet spokesperson Sushanta Chowdhury said, “The state government has always stood up to its promises made to the people of Tripura”.
“Be it for the farmers welfare, employment of youths or welfare of state government employees, the BJP-led state government under the leadership of Chief Minister Dr Manik Saha always took decisions in the favor of the masses”, he added.
Chowdhury on Friday detailed the decisions taken at the State Cabinet amid a press conference here on Friday.
Talking about steps taken for farmers welfare, Chowdhury said, “The state government has decided to buy 35,000 Metric Tons’ of paddy at a Minimum Support Price (MSP) of Rs 20.40 from the month of December from the farmers across the state”.
Adding that “Where there is a will there is a way”, Chowdhury slammed the previous government for not taking steps in farmers’ welfare but for blaming the central government for the same.
“From Rs 17.50 in the year 2018-19 the state government has each year increased the minimum support price thinking about the farmers”, he added.
Announcing good news for the state government employees, Sushanta Chowdhury said, “There will be no need of any ‘refer’ for availing medical treatment in hospitals outside the state enlisted under the state government from now on”.
Group A and Group B state government employees and their dependents shall receive reimbursement on submitting the bills from the hospitals after completing their course of treatment at the enlisted hospitals, he added.
Chowdhury further announced recruitment in 200 more Junior Engineer posts under the PWD department.
“Proposal for filling up of 100 TES (Tripura Engineering Service) Group A and 100 TES (Tripura Engineering Service) Group B will be added to the earlier announced 200 posts for Junior Engineers and the recruitment process will be conducted by TPSE”, he said.
Besides, a board has been formed like that of the JRBT for conducting the written and viva examination for posts of Fireman and Driver in Fire Service.
“As the Physical Fitness tests for recruitment into posts under Tripura Fire Service have been successfully conducted, a board of 4 members including Prof Debabrata Roy (Chairman), Subrata Saha, Deputy Collector and Magistrate (Member), Asim Biswas, Station Officer, Fire Brigade, (Member), Nepal Bhowmik, Station Officer, Agartala Fire Brigade (Member) has been formed to conduct the written and viva tests for the completion of the recruitment process”, he added.
In yet another major announcement, the Cabinet Spokesperson, Sushanta Chowdhury announced that the cabinet has approved the proposal of setting up Techno India University in the state and work for the same will be completed at the earliest.
The minister further thanked the chief minister and other members of the state cabinet for taking up such decisions in interest of the people of the state.
