Syed Mushtaq Ali: Tripura Faces Delhi Today

Tripura, still searching for their first win of the season, will take on a formidable Delhi side on Tuesday in the Syed Mushtaq Ali T20 tournament at Ahmedabad’s Narendra Modi Stadium. The match is scheduled to begin at 11 a.m.

Delhi team will enter the contest with strong momentum having secured two victories from their three matches so far, including a 10-run win over Saurashtra in their previous outing. In contrast, Tripura have suffered three consecutive defeats, leaving the team low on confidence ahead of tomorrow’s challenge.

Delhi are widely seen as favourites with a squad packed with star performers such as Nitish Rana, Ayush Badoni, Yash Dhull and Prince Yadav. Analysts believe Tripura will need a significant turnaround to avoid another setback.

Both teams conducted light practice sessions on Monday. Tripura’s batting unit, which has shown glimpses of improvement in the last two games, will be hoping for a stronger display. Captain Mani Shankar Mura Singh, currently in impressive form, is expected to play a crucial role.

Team management remains cautiously optimistic, expressing hope that if Mani delivers a standout performance, Tripura could open their account with their first win of the tournament. The cricket fans in Tripura are not pinning hopes although they praying for team’s success.

“Except all rounder Skipper Moni Shankar Mura Singh, no other players have shown consistent forms either with bat or ball. In the last match against Jharkhand, the State team was defeated by 8 wickets highlighting the difference between the two. Delhi team is also a strong team and a miracle in favour of Tripura is highly unlikely”, said an Agartala based cricket lover.
