Agartala, Feb 07: Tripura Board of Secondary Education (TBSE) president Dhananjoy Gan Chowdhury on Wednesday clearly stated that there was 'no decision' regarding the issue of allowing Roman script for Kokborok exam.
The statement came hours after Tipra Motha leader Pradyot Kishore Debbarma hinted that the TBSE had accepted the demand for allowing the Roman script for the Board examination on Kokborok subject.
Speaking to the media, the TBSE president said, "a letter was sent to the CBSE by the Education department but there was no decision so far. TBSE is not authorised to take the decision in this regard. In such a situation, the TBSE has to follow the existing system until a new decision comes from the CBSE."
This statement clearly highlighted that Pradyot Kishore Debbarma's comment on the issue in a live video was confusing.
The TBSE president made it clear that the students need to follow the existing pattern for writing in Kokborok examination.
