TBSE to hold 'Bachar Bachao' Exams by July 6

The Tripura Board of Secondary Education (TBSE) has announced that the special “Bachar Bachao” (Save the Year) examinations for Madhyamik (Class 10) and Higher Secondary (Class 12) students will be conducted by July 6. TBSE President Dr. Dhananjay Gan Chowdhury confirmed the schedule while speaking to reporters on Tuesday.

Dr. Chowdhury explained that the compartmental exams are held within sixty days of the publication of results, giving students who failed in up to two subjects a second chance to clear them and continue their studies without losing an academic year.

He further stated that the deadline for submitting applications for re-evaluation of answer scripts has already expired, while the last date for self-inspection of answer papers is set for June 9. Once these processes conclude, all activities related to the current academic year’s board examinations will be wrapped up.

The “Save the Year” scheme has been widely recognized as a lifeline for students, offering them an opportunity to overcome setbacks and pursue higher education without interruption. 

Parents and educators believe the initiative not only reduces academic stress but also ensures that deserving students are not forced to repeat an entire year due to marginal failures.

With the exams now scheduled, a large number of students across Tripura are preparing for what could be a decisive moment in their academic journey. The Board has assured that all necessary arrangements will be made to conduct the examinations smoothly and fairly.
