Demanding immediate recruitment, unemployed youths who cleared the TET-2 examination once again took to the streets, staging a protest in the City Centre area. The demonstrators, comprising both young men and women, gathered to press their demand for teaching jobs and later attempted to march towards the Finance Minister’s residence.
Â
Police intervened as the rally advanced, stopping the protesters and detaining several of them when the situation grew tense. The detainees were taken to the AD Nagar ground.
Â
The agitators alleged that despite the government issuing recruitment notifications a year ago — 1,033 vacancies under TET-1 and additional posts under TET-2 — the process remains incomplete. They pointed out that nearly 1,400 candidates cleared the TET-1 exam, yet appointments have not been finalized.
Â
Protesters further claimed that repeated appeals to the Chief Minister and other ministers have yielded no results, forcing them to escalate their movement. Their central demand is that the recruitment process be completed without delay to address the acute shortage of teachers in the state.
Â
The demonstrators expressed frustration at being denied opportunities despite qualifying examinations, insisting that only swift and collective recruitment can resolve the crisis.
