TET candidates stage protest; Demand immediate recruitment and Merit List publication

Mounting frustration among teaching aspirants boiled over on Monday as candidates who cleared the 2024 Teacher Eligibility Test (TET) staged a protest outside the office of the Teachers’ Recruitment Board, Tripura (TRBT). 

The demonstrators, comprising both UGT and GT qualified candidates, submitted a deputation to the Chairman demanding swift action on pending recruitment.

The protestors insisted that the recommend list for successful candidates must be published without delay, followed by the issuance of new job notifications to accommodate those still awaiting placement. They also pressed for the completion of the recruitment process for all qualified candidates at the earliest, warning that prolonged uncertainty was jeopardizing their careers.

Speaking to reporters, one candidate voiced the collective determination, “We will continue our protests until our demands are met. Today, we will not leave until we receive a proper date from the concerned authority for the publication of the merit list.”

Many of the aspirants had traveled long distances from the far north and south of Tripura to join the demonstration, underscoring the gravity of the issue. Their persistence has placed the spotlight firmly on TRBT, with candidates demanding transparency and accountability in the recruitment process.
