Three injured in road accident while trying to save dog in Santirbazar

In a dramatic incident that unfolded Tuesday morning, three people were seriously injured when a car lost control and crashed while attempting to save a dog crossing the road. The accident occurred around 7:08 AM near the Birchandramanu Zonal Office along the national highway in Santirbazar subdivision.

According to reports, the Maruti car bearing registration number TR 08 D 0310 swerved suddenly to avoid hitting the dog, leading to the crash. The impact left all three occupants of the vehicle grievously injured.

Fire service personnel from Santirbazar rushed to the spot immediately after receiving information and rescued the injured, who were then taken to Santirbazar District Hospital. They are currently undergoing treatment, with their condition reported as serious.

The injured have been identified as: Sikandar Badsa (65), Indrajit Baidya (52) and Alokjyoti Baidya (64).

Following the accident, police from Monpathar Outpost arrived at the scene, seized the damaged vehicle, and initiated an investigation to determine the exact cause of the crash.

The incident has sparked concern among locals about road safety along the busy highway, highlighting how sudden attempts to save animals can lead to tragic consequences.
