Tipra Motha indulging in violence after losing public support ahead of ADC polls: CM

Tripura Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha on Tuesday alleged that “some people under the name of Motha” have resorted to violence out of frustration after losing public support ahead of the ADC elections.

Addressing an election rally at Birchandranagar–Kalsi constituency in South Tripura district, the Chief Minister claimed that a violent incident had taken place in Kamalpur earlier in the day.

“After losing people’s confidence before the ADC polls, they have now entered into the politics of violence. Even today, an attack was carried out at a place in Kamalpur,” Dr. Saha said.

The Chief Minister accused the party of misleading people by speaking differently in public and acting differently behind the scenes. He also alleged that despite being in an alliance, the group repeatedly played the role of opposition and tried to blackmail the government.

“This blackmailing will not be tolerated anymore. After our firm decision, some people under the name of Motha have lost their goal and are now involved in violence and hooliganism. They will be answered through the law,” he asserted.

Allegiance looting of public money, Dr. Saha further claimed that despite receiving large allocations, the present ADC administration failed to deliver development.

He said, everything will be taken into account if the BJP forms government in the ADC, a detailed review of funds and development work will be conducted.

Appealing for BJP’s victory in the ensuing ADC elections, the Chief Minister said only BJP can ensure real development in the autonomous district areas. We are going to form triple-engine government in the ADC, he said.

Addressing the election rally, the Chief Minister also highlighted various initiatives taken by the BJP-led government for Janajati development.
