Agartala, Aug 11: As a part of ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ campaign, Information and Cultural Affairs department will organize a Tiranga rally in Agartala on Friday.
Addressing a press conference, ICA minister Sushanta Chowdhury said, the rally would start at 3 pm from Mahatma Gandhi statue at Circuit House and end at Ujjayanta Palace.
He said, Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha along with other state cabinet members, Union Minister of State for Social Justice and Empowerment Pratima Bhowmik, MPs, Mayor of Agartala Municipal Corporation Dipak Majumder along with other members of AMC, high-ranking administrative officials and citizens of different sections of the society would take part in the rally.
Information and Cultural Affairs department is working as the nodal department to make Har Ghar Tiranga campaign successful in the state.
According to Chowdhury, a target has been set to hoist 5.37 lakh National Flags in the state. The National Flags are being arranged through Self Help Groups, TRLM, TULM, Purbasha and the central government.
ICA department from its head office at Gandhighat, Agartala has started distributing National Flags to different districts from August 6.
Total 3372 outlets have been opened in the state for selling the National Flags. Among these, 169 are in North Tripura district, 310 are in Unakoti district, 247 are in Dhalai district, 299 are in Khowai district, 752 are in West Tripura district, 400 are in Sepahijala district, 676 are in Gomati district and 519 are in South Tripura district.
Meanwhile, the ICA minister distributed National Flags among the journalists after the press conference on Thursday.
