Sonamura, Mar 05: Even as the Tripura assembly elections remained largely peaceful, some sporadic incidents of post-poll violence have created a chaotic situation in Sonamura sub-division and it should be immediately stopped, a Trinamool Congress leader said.

Trinamool Congress Sonamura sub-divisional chairman Habil Mia on Sunday appealed to the leaders of all political parties and administration to come forward to deal with the post-poll violence.

Addressing a press conference at Sonamura press club, Mia said, “It has become necessary to take strict measures to end the ongoing post-election violence.”

He also said that even as the 2023 state assembly election process was conducted smoothly and fairly, some sporadic incidents of post-poll violence have marred the entire polling process.

Every political party should come forward to restrain respective party supporters and help the administration in ending the disturbances in the State.
