Tourism Minister inaugurates “Online Booking Portal” of Tripura Tourism

Agartala Aug 10: Minister Pranajit Singha Roy on Wednesday launched an online booking portal for Tripura Tourism in presence of Tripura Tourism Dept officials on Wednesday.
Addressing the media, Pranajit Singha Roy said, “The online booking system has been newly designed at a cost of Rs 4 lakh. This will attract tourist in Tripura and they will have easy access of people to book hotels, vehicles etc”.
“The new step taken by the Tourism Dept will help to boost the sector to a great extent. Earlier, too there was a portal but it turned backdated. I am very happy to inaugurate the modernized new portal”, said Roy.
He further added, Tripura is covered by Bangladesh from three sides. Neermahal like architects and Unakoti like old structures are main attractions of tourists. Besides Tripura has several spiritual destinations of which Mata Tripureshwari temple in Udaipur is under renovation with 37.8 Crore fund.
“Our target is to make Tripura No.1. Out of 10 archaeological sites in the Northeast, Tripura is holding 8 of them. Due to Covid led pandemic, tourism sector was badly hit, but now it’s time to revive it”, said Minister Pranajit Singha Roy.
In the press communiqué, TTDCL informed “Tripura Tourism Development Corporation Ltd had started online booking of Tourist Lodges / Yatri Niwas/ Pantha Niwas in the financial year of 2010-11. The software was developed by National Informatics Centre, State Agartala Unit. Now to cater demands of tourists it was necessary to make a user friendly, innovative, attractive and eye-catching booking page for the visitors. The Initiative of the re-development of this booking portal took around four months and now it is ready for use. This newly developed online booking page will help the visiting tourists in booking particular tourist lodges under TTDCL from their mobile phone or through computer.”
