Training Camp for Master Volunteers under ‘Drug-Free Campaign’ held at Birchandra State Library

Agartala Nov 22: In a significant step, aimed at fighting against drug abuse, focusing on creating awareness and fostering community engagement, a training camp for master volunteers under the Drug-Free India Campaign, initiated by the District Administration of West Tripura District and the Department of Social Welfare and Social Education, West Tripura District, was conducted on Friday at Birchandra State Library.
The program aimed to equip master volunteers with the necessary skills and knowledge to effectively contribute to the Drug-Free India Campaign.
During the training, participants received comprehensive guidance on various aspects of the campaign, including strategies for prevention, identification, and intervention in drug abuse cases.
The camp also emphasized the importance of community involvement and the role of volunteers in promoting a drug-free environment.
Officials while talking to the reporters said, “Today’s camp will impart necessary training to 80 master volunteers from various sectors including police personnel, teachers, etc. Such camps to be held in all the districts of the state, is a crucial platform for empowering volunteers and enhancing their capacity to make a positive impact”.
He added, “This initiative reflects the commitment of the Administration and the Department of Social Welfare and Social Education to addressing the challenges posed by drug abuse and ensuring the well-being of the community”.
