A second round of discussions with landowners was held at the Rajarshi auditorium in Udaipur on Monday as part of the state government’s initiative to develop Tripura’s first satellite town in Udaipur.
Finance Minister Pranajit Singha Roy said the administrative process for developing the satellite town under Tripura’s first Land Pooling Scheme has progressed considerably.
He emphasised that consultation with landowners is a crucial part of the initiative, as land is one of the most important components of the proposed project.
The meeting was attended by Gomati Zilla Sabhadhipati Debal Debroy, Udaipur Municipal Council Chairperson Shital Chandra Majumder, and officials including the District Magistrate and Sub-Divisional Magistrate.
The Finance Minister said detailed discussions and exchanges of views with landowners are essential to understand their concerns, secure their cooperation and ensure that the project moves forward through a participatory approach.
He further said that the government has plans to develop similar satellite towns in three districts of Tripura, with Gomati district currently making considerable progress in this direction. He thanked the district administration for its efforts in advancing the initiative.
According to the minister, the proposed satellite town will feature planned roads and improved connectivity, better education and healthcare facilities, parks and green spaces, civic amenities and modern infrastructure. The objective is to develop a well-planned and modern urban centre that can contribute significantly to the development of Udaipur and the wider Gomati district.
Describing the initiative as a major step towards improving the quality of life, the Finance Minister said the project was not merely being undertaken to meet the requirements of the government but was aimed at addressing the needs of the people and creating better living conditions for future generations.
He stressed that the successful implementation of the project would require the collective cooperation, views and coordinated efforts of all stakeholders.
“With everyone’s cooperation, let us build a more developed and modern Udaipur for the future,” the minister said.
