Tripura adopts Unified Pension Scheme

In a significant development, the State Government of Tripura has announced its decision to implement the Unified Pension Scheme under the National Pension System (NPS). The scheme will officially come into effect from 1st April 2025.

As per the official decision, the Unified Pension Scheme will apply to members of the All India Services who join on or after 1st January 2004, other Central Government employees posted in Tripura on deputation, and State Government employees who enter service on or after 1st July 2018.

The introduction of this scheme marks a step towards uniformity and better pension management for employees, in line with national policies. It is expected to ensure financial security for employees post-retirement while maintaining fiscal prudence for the state.

A Gazette notification undersigned by Finance Secretary Apurba Roy was issued on May 30, 2025 in this regard.
