Tripura Assembly Chief Whip Kalyani Roy Saha bereaved; CM & Ministers express condolences

A pall of grief has descended over Tripura’s political circles following the sudden demise of Dinesh Chandra Saha, husband of Kalyani Roy Saha, MLA from Teliamura and Chief Whip of the Tripura Legislative Assembly. The incident occurred early Wednesday morning, reportedly due to a cardiac arrest while he was asleep.

Chief Minister Prof. (Dr.) Manik Saha visited the bereaved family and spoke to reporters, confirming the circumstances of the passing. In a heartfelt message shared on social media, he prayed for the departed soul’s eternal peace and extended deep condolences to the grieving family. “May God grant them strength and courage to bear this irreparable loss,” he wrote.

The tragedy prompted an outpouring of sympathy from across the political spectrum.

Sudhangshu Das, Minister for SC Welfare, said he was deeply pained by the news and prayed for peace to the departed soul, while offering strength and patience to the bereaved family.

Sushanta Chowdhury, Minister for Transport and Tourism, expressed that he was profoundly shocked and mournful, extending heartfelt condolences and praying for the family’s courage in this difficult time.

Senior leaders and colleagues across parties also conveyed their sorrow, describing the loss as a moment of deep sadness for the Assembly community.
