Agartala, Apr 22: One and half months after landslide victory in the assembly polls, the Tripura unit of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) kick-started its preparations for the upcoming Lok Sabha polls with a special focus on strengthening the booths.
With the initiative of the Pradesh BJP, a one-day workshop on Booth Sashaktikaran Abhiyan was held at Rabindra Satabarshiki Bhavan in Agartala on Saturday.
BJP national secretary and Mayor of Ranchi Dr. Asha Lakra addressed the workshop in presence of Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha, Union Minister of State Pratima Bhowmik, MP Rajya Sabha Biplab Kumar Deb, BJP state president Rajib Bhattaharjee, former Deputy Chief Minister Jishnu Dev Varma, MP Rebati Tripura and other leaders.
The Chief Minister said, a total of 3328 booths are there in the state and all the booths are not strong according to the results of the last assembly polls. He said, the other political parties are trying to misguide the people and the BJP karyakartas have a major role to play to keep the common people in the right direction.
Later in a social media post, he mentioned that the organization needs to be strengthened further at booth level to spread the ideals of Bharatiya Janata Party among more people. There should be no complacency; coordination between words and actions is required to strengthen the party at the grassroots level.
He also commented, “We are determined to gift two Lotus from Tripura to Hon'ble PM Shri Narendra Modi ji in the LS polls to strengthen his hands for a stronger & prosperous India.”
Addressing the workshop, Dr. Lakra focused on strengthening the booths with new ideas and shared her views with the karyakartas present in the hall. She also emphasized the digital presence of the party, according to party sources.
Meanwhile, the BJP national secretary paid a courtesy visit to the Chief Minister at his official residence before leaving the state on Saturday evening.
