Agartala, Sept 24: The state unit of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) finalized the primary roadmap with a goal to win all sixty seats in the 2023 assembly polls, a party spokesman said on Saturday.
Speaking to the media, BJP state spokesperson Subrata Chakraborty said a Chintan Baithak was held at Hapania mela ground (palm resort) on Saturday where threadbare discussions were held on the issues like strategy for 2023 assembly polls, present political situation and present position of the ruling and opposition parties.
BJP national general secretary (org) B.L. Santosh, Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha, Deputy Chief Minister Jishnu Dev Varma, former Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb, party’s national spokesman and NE coordinator Sambit Patra, BJP state observer Dr. Mahesh Sharma along with other state leaders, MLAs and ministers and office bearers were present in the Chintan Baithak.
Later speaking to the media, Chakraborty said some internal decisions of the party were taken in the party meeting.
He said, the BJP central leaders including Prime Minister Narendra Modi, national president J.P. Nadda and national general secretary (org) B.L. Santosh are laying special focus on Tripura and taking one after another programmes and extending help for the development of Tripura.
After the meeting, Chakraborty said the matters discussed and the decisions taken in the meeting would be conveyed up to booth level.
He said, the BJP would retain power with a huge mandate in the 2023 assembly polls.
“In the series of meetings since yesterday (Friday), discussions were held with a goal of BJP’s fight in all sixty seats alone and win with majority,” he said.
Replying to a query, Chakraborty, however, said that the BJP always works with its alliance partners.
