Tripura Pradesh unit of Bharatiya Janata Party on Saturday issued a warning against a self-styled “party president designate” who had been trying to establish contacts with leaders and party workers holding different positions at levels. Party sources said the individual also tried to access critical information related to the party’s organisation matters which drew the attention of the party’s state headquarters. Â
A statement issued by the party added that according to the BJP’s organisational structure and constitution, the election and appointment of the party president and other office-bearers are carried out strictly through a defined and transparent organisational process. Any activity outside this framework is against party discipline and amounts to a serious act of indiscipline.
Acting on the directions of the state BJP president, all district presidents, mandal presidents and party workers have been instructed to remain alert and refrain from engaging with any individual or group involved in spreading misinformation, indulging in propaganda or carrying out activities that are contrary to the party constitution, the statement said.
The party has categorically stated that it will not tolerate any form of indiscipline or unconstitutional activities and has urged all workers to avoid establishing contact with such unauthorised persons.
Reiterating its commitment to organisational discipline and unity, the BJP expressed hope that all party workers would continue to work with full faith in discipline, unity and the party constitution to further strengthen and organise the party in the days ahead. Otherwise, the party warned that appropriate organisational action would be taken in accordance with party rules.
